The area is steeped in mining history,is part of the Wendron World Heritage Site and there are several engine houses within sight of the property. Walkers will find footpaths linking the farm to the moorland beyond. There are many bridle-ways locally for cyclists, as well as a network of off-road cycle- paths a few miles away.

Helston is the gateway to the beautiful Lizard peninsula & also nearby is the Helford River, (home of Du Maurier's 'Frenchman's Creek').
Falmouth has 4 beaches, hosts a variety of sailing regattas & is home to the National Maritime museum.
Other local attractions include Poldark Mine, Flambards Theme Park, Gweek Seal Sanctuary, Goonhilly & a number of sub-tropical gardens.
Lands End, The Eden Project & Lost Gardens of Heligan are all under an hour’s drive.
The surfing beaches of the north coast and the sailing waters and waterside villages of the south coast are all within easy reach.
The gay scene is not huge, but in Truro, there is Qdos bar/restaurant, (open 7 nights). In Penzance a gay bar is held on Sun nights at the Arts Club & there are various other events, including club nights, cafes, walks & discos. Cornwall Pride is scheduled for 28th August 2010.
