Dog-friendly camping holidays
Out in the Open offers a great environment for your dogs to have as happy a holiday as you do!
On the campsite
There are two fields on site, where your dog can run freely, off the lead, socialise & make new friends! These are beautifully mowed & quite safe; being a long distance from any roads.
Nearby
Various footpaths & bridleways are accessible from the campsite, so that you can walk your dog without having to take the car out. At Stithians, (3 miles away), there is a circular walk around the lake. In Helston, the Penrose Estate offers a circular off-road, scenic walk past Loe Pool & onto the beach at Loe Bar, with a possible detour to Porthleven for a cream tea!
Eating out
The two nearest pubs both offer good food, fine ales & allow dogs inside.
Playing
There are a range of beaches that allow dogs in the summer. Our favourite is Gwithian - miles of white sandy beach on the north coast. (Beach guides for dog-owners are available on site).
Cornwall also has some great off-road cycle paths & most of the bike hire companies also offer dog trailers.
Doggie Day Care
Dogs are not allowed in some of the very popular tourist attractions, such as Eden Project & the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Sometimes, you might just want a day of retail therapy without having to manage your dogs around town. We have links with local people who offer day-care & walking service for dogs. They will look after your dog whilst you are out & return them happy, exercised & tired!
