Management of a wildlife pond involves dredging out silt & invasive vegetation every 7-10 years. Having last done it in 1998, it was long overdue.

 

So the men with the diggers arrived & have been here for three long days. It was pretty exciting stuff. The photo above shows an £80,000 digger, with a little water in its engine - hence the steam!

 

We now have water back in the pond & within a couple of months we will see the surrounding area recover & the wildlife return.
